Service Description
Acting for Adults: Enjoy a fascinating introduction to acting techniques, and learn to apply them to building characters and scene work. Discover valuable insights available through Stankislavky’s System, The Method, Stella Adler Technique, Meisner Technique, Uta Hagen’s Technique, and more. Learn to develop your skills through techniques that resonate for you personally, and build tools that will help you to approach any character. Led by professional actress Sarah Denison, this course has 8 weekly sessions beginning January 13th. The course concludes on March 3rd. About the Teacher: Sarah B. Denison is an accomplished actress and director who brings her extensive New York City and Washington State experience to the Kitsap community. Sarah received her BA in Theatre from Eastern Washington University and is a proud member of the Spokane Tribe. She honed her craft in NYC, studying Uta Hagen at HB Studios, sketch writing at the Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB), and voice work at the Linklater Center. Sarah earned a critics choice award for "Best Actress" for her role as Annie Sullivan in The Miracle Worker, directed by Patty Duke. Her diverse theatre credits also include performances at Carnegie Hall in Soledad and with the American Indian Community House. She adapted Trojen Women to an indigenous story with Amerinda (American Indian Arts) Theater and directed it at Theater for the New City (NYC). She is a Co-Founder of From the Couch Theatre (NYC). Acting for Adults is limited to 18 students.
